- I lost my car keys. Should I call the dealership or a locksmith?

Both are viable solutions, although you have to tow your vehicle to the dealership in order to get your key made which is expensive v.s. A locksmith is mobile and will come to you and make your key on the spot!
- What is the difference between a transponder and a regular key?

A transponder is high security and has a computer chip in it that is programmed to work in your ignition if you have a key that is not programmed properly your vehicle will not start.
Regular keys are just metal and can be cut to your ignition.
- Why is it reccomended to rekey the locks on my new home?

When you buy a new home you never know who may have a copy of your key your realator, old owner, or neighbor. Thats why we reccomend rekeying your locks that way you don't have to change them just make sure only you have the keys to your home.
- I'm locked out what do I do?

Make sure there are no doors unlocked or windows open. Make sure you don't have a spare key somewhere. If you are completely locked out go ahead and call Portland Locksmith and we'll have an expert technician out to you ASAP!
